Bangladesh Clinical Practice Advisory Committee for Walk for Life

 

Terms of Reference

The Committee will give clinical advice to the Walk for Life programme to assure the programme of its clinical excellence, especially in relation to physiotherapy practice. It will also advise the programme on future clinical developments.

Objectives

The Board will

  • Advise on best practice in the implementation of the Ponseti technique for treating club foot
  • Require and receive reports on the clinical work undertaken by the programme in treating club foot
  • Advise the programme on the outcomes of treatment and success of the clinical practice
  • Advise on clinical developments needed to continually improve practice
  • Advise on training required to ensure the skills of the physiotherapists and other practitioners involved in treating patients are to the highest standard
  • Advise on the training of assistants within the programme.
  • Advise on research to be undertaken to support the global improvement of treatment of club foot
  • Report to the local and international medical advisory group of Walk for Life

The committee members will promote the work of Walk for Life with their colleagues.

Membership

Four practitioners who are actively involved in treating club foot using the Ponseti method and are supportive of the programme. The country Director will also sit on the Committee.

The committee members will be appointed by the Country Director.

Committee functioning

The committee will be supported by the administrative function of Walk For Life. Members will sit in an honorary capacity or as part of their employed role within the programme. They will sit for a two year of membership.

The committee will meet at least twice a year.
