Terms of Reference

The Committee will give clinical advice to the Walk for Life programme to assure the programme of its clinical excellence, bringing in international developments in practice and research to the programme and support the improvement of clinical practice within Walk for Life.

Objectives

The Committee will

  • Advise on best practice in the implementation of the Ponseti technique for treating club foot
  • Receive reports on the implementation of Walk for Life, advising on outcomes gained by the project
  • Advise on clinical developments needed to continually improve practice
  • Advise and assist in the training of doctors, physiotherapists and assistants to ensure best practice
  • Advise the programme on international research and development in the field of club foot treatment and support change in clinical practice as a result
  • Enable the engagement of Walk for Life doctors and physiotherapists in international practice development programmes
  • Support the aims of Walk for Life with colleagues

The members of the committee will hold no liability for the work of the programme.

Membership

Doctors, physiotherapists and others who are actively involved in treating or researching club foot using the Ponseti method and are supportive of the programme.

The committee members will be appointed by the Country Director.

Committee functioning

The committee will be supported by the administrative function of Walk For Life. Members will sit in an honorary capacity. The committee will operate virtually via the Walk for Life website in the main, with occasional meetings as possible. This will be co-ordinated by the Country Director.
